Amazing results, thank you both, Mike and Pat!

I'll send PM's to both of you.

Hi, everyone,

I recently uncovered a dusty family album, and in it I found two copies of the same tiny picture.
Any chance to use these two versions to get a clean one?
Appreciate the help!

Filipe

Both amazing submissions.

@Handypandy: again, fantastic. I mean, look at those HD sideburns! And great work on the suit as well
@Wiggy: love the "cleanup"! Faithful to the original, but much clearer.

Really happy to see him much clearer now. Thanks to you both  :)

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Francisco Souza (1920)

Hi everyone,

I recently found this picture of my GG-grandfather, Francisco José Barboza de Souza, born in 9/3/1866, from Barcelos (Portugal).

I attach a 600dpi JPEG, and a 1200dpi TIF can be found here: https://goo.gl/TkCR3D

If someone could help me restore it, it would be amazing!

Cheers

Other Countries / Re: Issidora Joakis Gonyie Born Portugul

Hi kazales,

Isidora (or Izidora) is an uncommon Portuguese name, but it exists. Joakis Gonyie are definetely not literal Portuguese surnames, maybe adaptations.
In order to find out more about her, you would need to know the parish where she was born.
The best place to look for Portuguese records is: https://goo.gl/WnlK61 (although some districts are inacessible); you can also use http://tombo.pt/en which has lower quality images, but more available records.
If I can help you further, please say so!

Cheers

Good evening everyone!

After giving up on finding a picture of her great-grandpa, my girlfriend received this from the Portuguese Army Archives. It's from his army bulletin. Since this is the only known picture of him, I'm kindly asking if someone could restore it.

I have a .tif with 1200 ppi in google drive here: https://goo.gl/1XO78U
The attached JPEG is 600 ppi.

Thanks!
Filipe

I've just shown your submissions to some of Luzia's grandchildren and they were really amazed. So thank you all!

@eglejok, Mike, ymfoster, Handypandy: would it be possible for you to send me a link with a higher quality/resolution file? I'd really appreciate it!

@Handypandy, I completely understand and respect that. She wasn't pregnant at the time, but I hadn't thought about the "finger covering" until now. No idea if there would be a reason to deliberately hide something, which is very intriguing. Seems like I'm due a conversation with her living children  :)
