I also have these surnames in my family tree Aves, Sparke, Taylor in Cambridgeshire although I'm not directly related/descended from these families.

No problem. I'm from Tilney St Lawrence originally and a lot of my family are from the Fen End.

Hi
Does anyone know if there was a pub called The Plough
a few yards away from a Chapel at Tilney Fen End, St John's...

This is an old turn-of-the-century photo of what The Plough originally looked like.

Hi

John Sanctuary (1739–1788) and Susanna (née Coulson) were my 6th great-grandparents, I've never been that sure of their children but their son William Sanctuary (1765–1842) was my 5th great-grandfather and baptised 28 Mar 1770 Wendling, Norfolk.

Yorkshire (East Riding & York) Lookup Requests / Re: The YELL family in Hull
« on: Thursday 09 March 17 20:39 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

I was going to start by saying that I'm not related to this particular Yell family as far as I know but I am as it turns out connected indirectly and distantly as the daughter of Elizabeth and David Yell (1809–1888), Mary Ann Yell (1836–1916) married into my family.
I'm originally from this same area of Norfolk and am descended from the Yell family, my great-great-grandfather was Mary "Polly" Yell (1859–1934) from Terrington St John, Norfolk and seeing as "Yell" is quite an uncommon name for this area of the Norfolk fenland villages I'm guessing that there must be a family relationship between my Yells the David Yell's family - I just can't find a link to tie them all together?

Hi,
Sarah Dyer née Smale was my great-great-grandmother as well. We must be related?
