Warwickshire Lookup Requests / Re: The Simmons

I find your request very interesting.  I am researching "Simmonds" or "Simmons" and the odd thing is, I have a younger brother named Thomas and an older sister Jane.  Our last name is "Simmonds" but some of the family had dropped the "d" thus "Simmons".  Now, my father's family were from Brighton.  I have very little information on my Simmonds family but what I do have I will share if you think it could help.  My grandfather was Walter Wallis Simmonds and grandmother was Jane Maria Simmonds Nee Goddard.
Sincerely,
Laura

Oh...I forgot to mention that I have the "d" in Simmonds but my father's cousins had dropped the "d" for some reason.  Strange what people do???  Sure makes life somewhat complicated.
Sincerely,
Laura

Thank you both so very much - Rambler and Sillgen!  This is my first attempt and I really don't have much to go on.  I know that my father's mother passed away when he was 19 years old in Canada but I do not know what her parents names were.  I only new the names of my fathers siblings and they were Stan, Harold, Walter George/George Walter(passed away at a young age) Dorothy and Bernard-my father.  They were all born in Brighton and they all came to Canada when my father was 11 approx. 1924.  I know it isn't much and I am hoping to find more on the family.  Now, there was a cousin Cyril and I believe he had sisters, Eve, Joan, and Hetty.  There could have been more I just don't know.
Sincerely,
Laura

Good Morning Rambler and thank you for checking on the names  :)  I know for a fact that my father was born in 1913 and I believe he was the youngest.  All of my uncles and aunties were somewhat oldish in my eyes.   My parents had my older siblings early then waited 10 years and had me and another 4 years after me to have my younger brother.  My mother was 38 when she gave birth to me and 42 when she gave birth to my brother.  They never discussed the ages of people.  In fact, in our house, not much was discussed openly in front of children.  It appears to me that the data may not be available.  Someone was able to help be with the marriage year of 1900 for my mother's parents and for that I was very grateful.  Well, thank you again for your help and suggestions.
Sincerely,
Laura

My father and his siblings were born in Brighton.  His family came to Canada when he was 11, approx. 1924 because he was born in 1913.  I am looking for any information on the Simmonds/Simmons family.  The parents were Walter and Mariah Jane, nee Goddard.  His siblings were Stan, Harold, (George, died from childhood smallpox or something like that), Dorothy, Bernard Oswald-my father.
Sincerely,
Laura Louise

Darcy...I think you've got it!  You know...I just recently had a huge rooted molar extracted and my brain just hasn't been working right.  I really think you've got it.  Wow...and here I was saying, no...that couldn't be them.  Sheesh...where is my mind at.  You are amazing Darcy...I really think that must be them.  Wow...I feel like dancing a jig...
Thank you Darcy!
Thank you very much!
Sincerely,
Laura Louise

Hi Darcy...somehow I don't think they are the ones.  My Mother was born in 1914 and her sisters were probably born 1904 ish and maybe 1890's or there abouts.  So their parents couldn't be born in 1900.  Not unless a miracle occurred.
Thank you Darcy for trying.
Sincerely,
Laure

Hi Darcy...thank you for trying.  I feel as if I am looking for a needle in a hay stack.  I've tried many-a-time and have not succeeded.  Thank you again for your help.
Sincerely,
Laura
