Many thanks for the idea, and links!

It doesn't show the names I was looking for, but as it appears the same family were there for several years at least my ancestors must have been passing lodgers/servants?

It is strange about number 52 though, I have no explanation for that ....

All the best, Julie

Thanks ever so much for such a fast reply !

Unfortunately, the names I was hoping to find aren't there..... and it is really weird there is no no. 52 ? That is definitely what the marriage cert states.. ?

I guess they were probably themselves lodgers at time of marriage in 1869. That seems the most likely explanation as the husband was a mariner, and the wife's father had only recently died at sea in a shipwreck.

Looks like I will have to find another route to track spelling and likely origin of name which I have got so far as: Raglan, Rhegleim, Regulen, Regoline !

Kind regards,
Julie.

Hello,

I'm really interested to find out how you can search a census by address....?

I am looking into who lived at 52 Beaufort street Liverpool in the 1871 census!!

On a marriage cert in  1869, I have the husband's address as 52 Beaufort street, and the wifes at 35 Beaufort street, but would like to see census entry closest to that time to see if any family were still there and to check the spelling of the name.

Any help would be gratefully received,
Thanks and regards,
Julie
