Hello

Andrew Barr was killed on 26/8/1918 and is buried in Croisilles, France. He was with 1/7th HLI.

However, on the birth cert of his son born 1916 which he signed, he gives his regt as 1/5th HLI

Was he in 1/5 and then joined 1/7 - maybe after a wound or something? Anyone help?

yes half brothers and one full sister.
Full sister was born in Helensburgh in 1854 Jessie White sometimes called Jessie Begbie White .. funny enough she isnt in Anderston in 1871... but she is in later censuses and dies married in 1912

I wonder where she was in 1871.. not more brick wall
