I have a series of births that were apparently recorded in the Terryglass Parish Records (Church of Ireland?) between 1810 and 1828 as follows:
Parents - James & Sarah Atkinson
Children:
Margaret    - 21 Nov 1810
John          - 18 Jan 1813
Thomas     - 1 Jan 1817
James       - 14 Apr 1819
Elizabeth   - 19 May 1821
Henry        - 16 Jan 1824
Maria         - 4 Aug 1825
John          - 27 Aug 1828
I would really like to know where I can get certified copies of these records, please.

Australia / Re: Parents of Alexander REID

Hi to all of you above,
I am a direct descendant of Alexander Reid, who is definitely a son of James and Annabella Murray. I have had no end of problems finding birth dates for him and for his three siblings who were born in Scotland before they emigrated, i.e., Ann, James and Henry Grey. The children, who were born in Hobart and at Richmond Hill, Sidmouth are all clearly registered. However, Alexander and Clara Childes, who were both born when they were living at Macquarie River, (Campbeltown) are missing records. The Family Search reference is only from How reliable is "Ancestral File A static collection of genealogies submitted by users, prior to 2003, including 40 million ancestors", which I don't consider to be terribly reliable. Of course, we have marriage records when he married Annabella Murray and also the Trove report as recorded above.

Berwickshire / Re: Offer to photograph gravestones in Earlston Churchyard

Hi Terry H and Spandorah,
I am new to Rootsweb and I have just come across your posts about photographing headstones in the Graveyard at Earlston, Berwickshire.
Firstly, Terry, I have a headstone in the graveyard - Thomas Scott and his wife Ann Reid, together with their son George Pringle Scott. Thomas died in 1855, Ann in 1846 and George between 1837 and 1843. I hope you can help me, please. I know it is there as I have in my possession a very out of focus shot of it.
Spandorah, Thomas is the son of  George Scott and Betty Pringle. He was one of the sons who went to Tasmania, but after marrying Ann Reid (my great-great-great-aunt), he returned to Scotland with her, leaving his brothers James and George in Tasmania to manage his affairs. My source, a distant cousin, who researched the Reid family and thus the Scotts quite extensively, maintains that they are indeed related to Sir Walter Scott!
Cheers,
Christine Calabria
