Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / Re: Daniel Lovel Bap 14 Apr 1723

I found a tree on Ancestry that has her parents listed as Daniel Lovell B. 1723 and Mary Marshall B. 1725. But when I looked them up elsewhere, I can only find five children so far, and no Elizabeth yet.
Do you think it might be possible that all their children aren't listed? Omgosh, I don't know.

Oh do you think it might be? Mine is listed as Elizabeth on her marriage records. But I haven't been able to find any other records for her, and it's driving me nuts.
I want to know who her family was, her parents, grandparents, uncles, etc. 😭
I've been searching for five years.

My Elizabeth was from Bristol Gloucestershire, and that Henry Lovell I quoted in my post was married in Bristol to Mary Powell. I was wondering where the record is on Ancestry.

Ancestry has a burial at Bristol 1 March 1737 of Grace Lovel

and marriage of

Henry LOVELL in 1744 at Saint Mary Redcliffe to Mary POWEL

and a daughter christened at Saint Mary Redcliffe

Elieza 1746

The LOVELL's appear to be up and down the River Severn

I'm descended from Eliz. Lovell born around 1746 in Bristol, Gloucestershire but have not been able to find her parents.
Whereabouts is this record please?  I think it's my 4th gt Grandmother.

« on: Saturday 23 July 22 06:44 BST (UK)  »
you have a few other gypsy names lurking in your family.cooper, and others.can you give some first names to go with boswell and who they married as that might help.alot of gypsies stayed around the east end of london.they got on particularly well with the jews.give me some of the addresses aswell.oh by the way they didnt have caravans until the 1950s and before that it was wagons and that only from about 1880.most were in benders(tents)or barns or under hedges or in lodgings!!!!give me some of the occupations aswell.the boswells by the way didnt arrive in england until about 1650!!!!!so maybe thats a clue?
Romani were reported in England as early as 1515 and even earlier in Scotland.

I don't think they have a facility on their website for that, unlike Gedmatch. You'd have to order a test.

I just saw this now, in 2022.
Genebase shows detailed ethnicity, including Romani Kalderash, Monteni, Lom, Vlax, etc.
That's how I found out my ancestry.
Apparently Genebase concentrates more on ethnicity, rather than amassing a huge database of match-ups.

Yes that’s correct. Patricia was one of the Clarkson Rosebuds. But frustratingly I cannot find any photos from then.

Oh wow. Thank you for all those links.  I know they met doing the Twinkle shows. Patricia was a professional ballerina and she also did the variety circuit.  She was one of the Rosebuds for a while.
She shared a flat with Christine Yates who married American actor/director Stephen Douglass.  There are news clippings about that.
I’ve no idea what that court listing is about.
