Yorkshire (West Riding) Lookup Requests / Re: Burial Records Doncaster

Just to update and close off my request.
I was able to get the plot details directly from the cemetery - they were more that helpful.
Thanks everybody for advice and input...

Monaghan / Re: Need help with headstone in Latlurcan Old Graveyard, monaghan

Hello it's a few years since your post I'm from Monaghan and am looking for someone also In Latlurcan old cemetery, did you get what you needed I know it quite well, regards
Louis

Hi, apologies for the delay in replying, just saw this now.
Never got anything on Laturcan.  Did talk to Cathriona in Monaghan Library who found a newspaper reference of one of the burials.  This led me to the old cemetery in Donagh, where I now believe those I was looking for are buried in an unmarked grave, so I never pursued Laturcan records.  I was in Monaghan about a year ago and called to the library to thank Cathriona, who was unbelievably helpful.  Just my luck to pick a day she wasn't there...

Archives and Local Studies should be able to make a search for you, in newspapers and burial register. There would probably be a small charge for research and copies, but fairly straightforward as you have a date for the event.  Otherwise try Doncaster Family History Society, who will probably have a member willing to help.

I'll drop A&LS an email to check.  I tried the Doncaster FHS previously and they replied they couldn't assist.

Thanks again.

This is the link for archives and also newspapers in local studies.  They have recently come together in the former museum building at Chequer Road.

Thank you for this.  Unfortunately I wont be able to get there - I'm located in Ireland.

The local newspaper would have been The Doncaster Free Press. Which is still an online presence.

Thank you too, also much appreciated.  I'll try them.

UPDATE -

The Doncaster Free Press is part of a group of over 200 newspapers and are unable to store physical records - suggested the local library.

The other local newspaper would have been the Doncaster Gazette - I've checked at British Newspaper Archive but it only has the years 1870 and 1958 digitised. Gazette Newspapers still exists as a publisher.

Thank you, much appreciated.  I had found the Gazette on BNA, but assumed they had actually closed in 1958 and didn't realise they were still in existence.  I'll try them.

UPDATE -

The current Doncaster Gazette actually only launched in 1995 and are therefore unable to help.

Thank you too, also much appreciated.  I'll try them.  I've noticed that the records for Rose Hill Cemetery (seems to be the Doncaster burial place most used in 1964) are now in the Doncaster Archives - if I get nowhere with the papers I'll put in a request there.
Again thanks...

Hi,
I am looking for the burial record of Robert Mulholland, died 11th. December 1964 in Doncaster (possibly at 227 Wheatley Lane?).
Thanks.
Also is there any local newspaper that might have the death notice in it?  Cant find anything on British Newspaper Archives.

Just given this a "bump" - anyone able to assist?
