Hi there,
We are new here.
I understand this post was some time ago.
We found your site while researching an antique French slate mantle clock with two Marly horse garnitures. This is in our possession.
The reason why your site came up is because the presentation plaque on the front of the clock had SQMS W. R. Hadler, which matches the name in your forum.
I tried to attach a couple of images so you can read the inscription. But they are too large. Would you like me to transcribe it so that it is searchable on your site? It mentions the 8th Kings Royal Irish Hussars and his transfer to permanent staff of the Imperial Yoemanry after 15 years. Also a member of the sgts mess 30-11-05
Hope this helps someone to clarify their ancestor's history.
