Hello, I am searching my family tree. my surname is 'Ingram' but I found out via a professional genealogist tree search that my surname was actually 'Crisp' originally as seems to have been changed to 'Ingram' (a maiden name in the family) due to avoiding fines in the 1800's so is all very interesting.

I would love for someone else to share their family tree if are also researching the Crisp family in and around Crick - Northamptonshire, Warrickshire, Leicestershire an Leicester and I will share mine with you to see if we can match up.

I have found the Crisp family in Crick as far back as the early 1700's and then came to Leicester with a surname change to Ingram in the mid to late 1800's.

I have done my own family tree search which entailed the 'Crisp' surname being changed to 'Ingram' in the 1800's. The Crisps in my family tree all come from 'Crick' in Northampton/Warrickshire dating back to the early 1700's and ended up coming to Leicester city area as Ingram's!
The name change comes in the 1800's with a Samuel Crisp which seems to be to avoid hefty fines as was a petty criminal!

I would love to find others who are connected in my family tree of Crisp's originating in 'Crick' Northamptonshire/Warrickshire so please make contact to share trees if you wish.
