Nottinghamshire / Saxondale asylum-Elizabeth Shaw Spencer.

My great grandmother was in the asylum in 1903. I have already received some info from notts archives stating she was admitted for one month then died of melancholy and morbidly depressed. She was 37.  Perhaps someone familiar with the asylum area might be able to comment as to cemetery where she might be buried and also if there is a chance of further medical records being found.  I am waiting for a reply from the archives now but does anyone know if more detailed medical records could be found.

Nottingham archives have sent me information stating my great grandmother was admitted to the asylum in 1903 and she died one month later due to melancholy and severe depression. She was only 37 with two children about age 8 and 10. I realize life was quite different back then but have to wonder what the reasons would have been for this.  I would love to find out if more detailed medical records exist and where she may be buried.  Would the asylum have a cemetery

Hi Ferrit.  I'm just getting back into this after many years away.  I cannot remember if we chatted in the past about Cramptons.  I am also related to John Crampton mayor of Mansfield.  Intrigued with the info you have.
