Pembrokeshire / Re: Tuder family of Tenby

I'm seeking information on the social conditions in Tenby at the time. As I live in Australia nothing is available, and whilst the family is mentioned occasionally in the Tenby newspaper of the time, there is little to determine their environment eg why did siblings Thomas and Ann Tuder, aged 19 and 21 die withing 6a few weeks of each other in 1816? They are buried in St Mary's church.

HI
I am researching the Tuder family who lived in Tenby 1800-1860, particularly Lieut John Kelly Tuder RN of Walker Cottage (Now Tudor Lodge) at Jameston, who died in 1845, also his brother Major William Tuder, magistrate, after whom Tuder Square (now incorrectly spelled Tudor) in the centre of Tenby was named. The family consisted of the two brothers and four sisters, all spinsters plus a married sister. The magnificent east window/s of St Mary's church, Tenby, is dedicated to the family.

Folks

Have just come across this, so some further info.

James Tuder Thomas and Elizabeth Ann Tuder Furlong (nee Thomas) were the only children of James Thomas (a farmer) and Martha TUDER. Martha was the illegitimate daughter of the wealthy Lieut John Kelly Tuder RN (1787-1845) of Jameston/Manorbier in Pembrokeshire and was raised by him. Elizabeth Ann Tuder Thomas   was baptised at Monorbier on 22 October 1848 and married John Furlong in Pembroke in 1875.

I have only researched one of their offspring, Kelly Tuder Furlong because of the continuing use of the name Tuder, even though it has been corrupted into the common TUDOR spelling. Kelly married Elizabeth Mary Davies in 1903 at Merthyr Tydfil and they embarked on the "Oceanic" at Liverpool for the USA on 27 January 1904, becoming naturalised US citizens in 1918 (ref US census 1920 and 1910) and shipping records. They made more than one trip from UK to USA.

Lieut John Kelly Tuder RN is/was my G-G-Grandfather

Elizabetha Camilla Tuder (Edwards) 1781-1860 was my g-g-grand Aunt, sister of my g-g-grandfather Lieut John Kelly Tuder RN. and daughter of Rev William Tuder, Rector of Kingston Seymour, Somerset 1780-1820, and his wife Elizabetha Camilla (nee Walker). She married Cadwallader Edwards in 1811. He died in 1824.

Elizabetha Camilla Edwards, the daughter you mention was the only child, and died aged 25 in 1837. Both mother and daughter  were named Elizabetha Camilla as was Rev Wm Tuder's wife. Both EC Edwards died in Tenby, Pembrokeshire. Both are buried in a Tuder family grave in Penally Churchyard, near Tenby. Cadwallader Edwards comes from a long line of Cadwallader Edwardses so it's confusing which is which. Hope this helps. :)
