Hello again. Thanks all for your speedy response - from information I had previously I can say that you are all on the money.
I was trying to confirm my family connection (Alice Frances was my maternal grandmother) to one of John William and Mary Ann's later children, Charles Francis born 1894. I think you have done that, especially Jebber because that information shows up in the 1901 census with the inclusion of Charles Francis and two others.

Charles F. was killed in France in 1918 and is mentioned on a Memorial in Vis en Artois near Arras. My brother has in his possession a small birthday greetings card with a written note on the back saying "From Chip, somewhere in France 1917".  I am going on a WW1 battlefield tour next year and this prompted me to try and find Chip's identity, story and family connection. This I have now done and will be able to pay my respects upon my visit to France.

Thank you all once again.

Census Lookup and Resource Requests / 1891 Census. Alice Frances Ford born 1883 in Kent

Hi there, it would be much appreciated if someone could confirm that Alice Frances Ford was part of the family of John William Ford and his wife Mary Ann of Medway, Kent. (Gillingham?)

In 1891 John William would have been aged 40, Mary Ann age 35 and Alice Frances 8. Other siblings are Elizabeth aged 12, Frederick aged 10, George aged 3 and possibly Ellen (born in 1891)

I have the same family in the 1901 census with the addition of three siblings but not Alice Frances - she was then 18 and listed at another household in Gillingham as a domestic servant.

Thank you
