Thanks for all the extra details.  Yes Austin F Evans would have born in 1861.... sorry too many Evans.  And I got the wrong generation with the 12 children .....  I think we're going to have to resort to pencil and paper, will be easier to understand.

Sorry for delay, whilst I was busy falling asleep... my much better half (Jill) managed to find his Great Grandfather .. John (married to Emilia) and their 12 children.  John was born in 1804, Cirencester.  But to answer your question, yes trying to see how far back we can get.  She also found his Dad (Austin) and Grandad (Richard).  Thanks again Pete.

Thank you both for getting back on this.  And the correction on the birth year.

We have managed to find details of my Grandfather's family based on the national census from 1871 to 1911.  From what we know he moved from Cirencester to Birmingham at some stage.  He was a P.O.W in WW1 and died in late 1960s.  One of his brothers (Frank) ended up out in Western Australia where he and his son served in the Australian Army.  I know he won a medal at the Yellow School in Cirencester (now a girls school) for sports ... I have the medal.

I saw some details back to 1600s.. on an old post, not sure if connected to my version of the Evans clan.

Thanks again.

Pete

We're trying to get my Dad some details on his Dad's family.  We know my Grandfather was born in Cirencester in 1884, we know his immediate family and tracked through the census ... mostly through work a lady did on here about 10 years ago.

My Dad was the youngest of many born in 1939.  We already know of family connections to the Pierpoints and relatives across the 'Empire'.

Full name was Albert Austin Evans, his Dad was Austin F Evans (born about 1854) and is mother Alice (also born 1854)...

Thanks

Pete

Hi ... only just discovered this site because my partner was asking my dad about his family for a family tree.  I know we have a star of a silent movie and connection to a state executioner in the Evans family.... and many in Australia.  My Grandfather was the eldest son of Austin Evans.. he was a POW in WW1 and later moved to the Birmingham area.  My Dad was the youngest of very many children and two marriages.  My one surviving uncle does remember meeting one of his aunts... if any details we can help with let me know.  Pete.

Just saw this search.  Albert Austin Evans was my grandfather on my Dad's side (he is his youngest child).
