Family History Beginners Board / can not find parents off ...
« on: Monday 14 August 23 19:22 BST (UK)  »
hello I have hit abit of a brick wall with my family tree. I am looking for Marys parents as I can not find a marriage document on Joseph and Mary.

Mary (not sure on maiden name)
B:abt 1868 in Burton on Trent, Staffordshire, England
D:March 1904 in Staffordshire, United Kingdom

she was married to Joseph Birbige Willshee
B:July 1867 Burton upon Trent
D:Apr 1931 Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, England

There is evidence of them both living together in 1901 Censers but Mary died about age 36

thank you ever so much

wow that was fast  :D.. I have found a census from 1939 when william henry bevins was living in bedworth as a Colliery Stallman Heavy Worker and william and florance have the right birth dates. and then i have found a 1911 census which the step father has the same job as a Colliery Stallman Heavy Worker.

hello i am wondering if anyone could shine a light on why someone's surname has no connection to there father or mother?

i am looking for William henry Bevins 23th December 1905-1988 and was married to Florence Bevins lived in warwickshire/bedworth/Coventry . But when i try to find the mother and father it says he was a step son to a Andrew Howard and the mother was married and devoiced to a Arthur Hewson  but no sign of a Bevins.

Thank you so much

Hi Surrey Genie

In a nutshell, my main guy is James Moralee b.13/02/1805 and bapt.02/06/1805 - All Saints Newcastle.

The next record I've got of him is in the 1851 living with his wife and family in Mold, Flintshire, North Wales where the family remained, James died in 1865.  He was my g.g.g grandfather.
Desendents remained in North Wales in and around Mold, the surname, as you can imagine has undergone some spelling alterations!!! and has been Morrlle since c.1880s  Imagine how many times I've heard "shouldn't there be a vowel in there somewhere!!" LOL

With help on this site I've also found out the following........

James' parents were...
Matthew Moralee and Elizabeth Ramsey m. 5th May 1804 at Boldon,Durham.

Known siblings...
Michael - 3rd March 1807
Margaret - 17th July 1809
both christened Longbenton.

?? Matthew's was born c.1774, Lamesley and ?? his father was Henry.
Elizabeth's father was Michael Ramsey.

I've sucessfully traced my Welsh Moralees back to 1851 in North Wales.....but when they left the North East I've no idea....a couple returned to North East in the 1860s and 1870s with mining.

So for now my hunt is up in the North East pre 1851.

Sorry this is such a long ramble!! ;D

Sarah :D
