Stereotypers and Electrotypers made duplicate printing plates. Stereos were made from a card mold and the card was called flong. Wet flong was made in the Foundry ( this was our Dept. ) Dry flong was machine made and bought in. Until 1962 we did a seven year apprentiship. There were no London apprentices in 1962 and for 1963 and 64 the apprentiship term was reduced to six years.
After 1964 the number of London appretices bound down would have been less than five.
