Oh yes we are cousins.
Martha's brother John had an illegitimate child too - my grandfather George Armstrong.
Most of my research I did about 10 years ago. A friend asked me a few questions today which prompt me to do a quick search and up you popped.
Can I ask if you have any information relating as to why George may have been in Hardwood Asylum? I know he died there in 1918 but could not trace any information relating to his condition or disability.

Hey sorry to burst in on your post but I think we may have the same Armstrong's.  My G grandfather was John Armstrong (called Alex) his parents were George Armstrong and Elizabeth Robb who were married at Drumharif in Co Armagh.  George was resident and died in Hardwood Asylum.
George and Elizabeth's parents are both listed as being Alexander and Mary McQuillie which is confusing.
Do we have the same ones?
