Hi Cheryl, lovely to connect, so you are descended from Thomas, Caroline’s brother. I also only go into tree every now and then, it does take so much time. Do you know Pauline Mathews, I remember staying at her home when I was a child but cannot remember her parents names! Will certainly share anything extra that I have but you seem to have far more, will check it out 😁

Hi Cheryl, I have just come across your post on this site. It seems we have the same ancestors in Thomas Mathews and Eliza Gates, they were my Great great grandparents, my Great grandmother was Caroline their daughter, I would be very interested to hear of any other information re our ancestors
