London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Re: Samuel Freshwater

Many Thanks to you all for the help, it is not as easy as I thought it might be. If I had started earlier in life I would have had elderly relatives to ask, but alas they are now all gone.

Thank you once again for the assistance.

Hello Pennines,

Many thanks for the assistance, I have started quite late in life looking for my ancestry, as my father told me his father was an orphan.
It wasn't until a friend helped me obtain my grandfathers wedding cert. that we found he did have a father and they had spent time in the Hackney workhouse infirmary that we assumed that my grandfather did not want people to know.

Thanks again Regards
Richard

Hello All and many thanks for assisting me.
The history is that a relative gave me some information that shows Samuel Freshwater B; about 1810 in Stratford Middlesex.  M: Esther Corbett abt 1836. D: 5.5.1854 at 1 Bakers Alley Bow.
They have Esther'death about 1888 in Poplar.
They had Frederick B: 1836
               Enoch     B: 9.21841
               Charles   B: 15.2.1845
                John      B: abt. 1847/48
                Francis   B:  abt. Mar. 1851
                Susan    B: abt. 1853/54
I am a descendant of Frederick.
Thanks again. Richard

Hello  All,  researching my tree has got me stumped. Can anyone throw a light into what I need to do next please.
I have managed to get back to  Samuel Freshwater B: 1810 Stratford/Pancras London. D1854: He was married to Esther Corbett B: 1814 D:1888. But from then I can't seem to get anywhere. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thankyou  Richard

Marcie I do so like your poem.
I am new to the forum having started very late due to the fact of being told "you won't get anywhere as your grandfather was an orphan" but thirty years later I started.
Our children are not interested, they just pay me lip service when I inform them of a relation of long ago.
We are off to Northampton Thursday as I have found out that the Dixon's were in a village called Kings Cliffe and many were wood turners.
But I can at least document the information and in years to come someone might say "I'm glad old Great Grandad Dixon did that.

You people are marvellous, my grandfathers wedding Certificate is Wandsworth Oct 8th 1899, he married Louisa Flack, but is showing both Fathers Stephen Rolls Dixon & George Fowler Flack as deceased.
Thank you all

I am trying to find my G,Grandfather. On my Grandfathers wedding certificate  his name is Stephen Rolls Dixon, however, I can find his death but not birth.
The only birth I can find is Stephen Rowles Dixon born in Oundle . Any advice would be apreciated.
Thanks
