Hi Elizabeth
So Far have not come accross an Edward james in my branch of the family but that is not to say that he has been missed! There are more Burrowes out there with Families in N Ireland as well!
Will Keep him in mind as I go through the family records.
Mike

Thanks Dathai, This is  a side of the family I have not looked at yet! I have the Children of Thomas H and Margaret but have not got a record of a Margaret Kathleen ( or Margiarita as she was on her deathcertificate!) Back to the records to see if I can sort this out.  Mike

Thanks for this information I can now work on the next generation back! I had caught up with the Census info, and been able to follow the family in the 1900s. Grandpa Burrowes (Alfred Edward) was one of the Pals who joined the7th Royal Dublin Fusiliers. He saw service in Gallipoli where he received a commission and later in France as a Captain in the 2nd battalion. When he was wounded in 1917 he joined the RFC and then became a n officer in the RAF.

I am researching my Great Grandfather Samuel James Burrowes.
Samuel was born in 1857 and married Amelia Ryder (born in 1861/2) in about 1884. In 1891 when my grandfather was born, the Burrowes family lived at 78 Friars Walk, Cork. Later there would be three more children to make the total of seven siblings. I have been able to trace the Family’s move to Dublin and the subsequent death of Amelia in 1914, and Samuel in 1917 after the sinking of the SS Adela on which he was the Chief engineer.
What I have not been able to do is trace his family in Cork. I have a photo of Samuel with his 5 brothers and 2 sisters, but I do not know their names or anything about the family. Can anyone help with this ?
