Durham / Re: End of line for TURNBULL in Durham?

I doubt it. Chester le Street - three miles south on the side of the old A1 at Plawsworth lived the late Father of John Turnbull - Alistair Turnbull. John Turnbull is with Youngs at Hexham. Alistairs Father was briefly in partnership with my Grandfather until his untimely passing in 1924. Turnbull Parkinson and Nicholson was an amalgamation of Auction Marts around Durham. Indeed Grandfather met his match in the form of a furniture removal lorry at the crossing of the A1 at Pity Me, - not quite equal when 'tilting' with a motor bike. He was on his way from Durham Auction to one of his own - either Lanchester or Tow Law. Suggest contact John Turnbull, who shouldn't take much finding. Alistairs father must have been born around 1900.
