The census states he was not born in Hertfordshire, so Oxfordshire could be right.

Thanks, I'll check that out again. I had something similar on my tree, but couldn't verify the facts so I have deleted it to minimise the confusion. Like to be able to find birth or baptism records for Israel.

I am seeking help to find the parents of Israel Wearing 1786-1842.
He married Elizabeth King in 1815 and had a son Joseph from whom I am a distant descendant. To add to the confusion, the family name may also be known as Waring in some records. I have been going over this for some time, but am getting nowhere.

I'm fairly confident that Israel is correct, but finding his parents is a bit of a mystery.
Another tree on ancestry has his father as James 1754-... but I haven't found anything on that yet to verify it.

Just following back the information you have posted
1841 census for Sarratt states Israel was not born in County
His age at death in 1842 was 60 as per GRO index. That makes birth c1782.
Where does his father as 'James' come from if you don't have a baptism
The 1841 England Census shows a Sarah Wearing, Sarratt Hertfordshire, age 55, estimated year of birth 1786. But when you look closely at the actual page, it reads Israel. I guess if you look quickly it looks a bit like Sarah? So I am assuming this is my Israel Wearing (sometimes written as Waring) who married Elizabeth King and had a child Joseph who all fit my tree going forward. Now, as for his father... more research needed?

His father Israel William Wearing 1786-1842...
His father James Wearing 1754-1853 born Hertfordshire...
Now the confusion starts. I have a John Wearing (Waring) born 1730 at Barley, Hertfordshire with a son James that seems to fit. John's father is shown as William and mother as Elizabeth but I can't find any details on a William to go back any further. The name Wearing and Waring seem to be used for the same people???

Looking for any information on William Waring or Wearing? Possibly born around 1700 as the only information I have is a son John born 1730 Hertfordshire.Williams wife was possibly Elizabeth??
His son John was married to Anne
and their son, James was born 1754? Hertfordshire.
Any information on William, his parents etc would be greatly appreciated.

Help needed from Australia. I am looking for the parents of George Banks, 1778-1845.
George married Martha Butterfield 6th April 1801. I believe some of their children were William, Joseph, Abraham, Elizabeth, Martha, and Sarah? Abraham was my 2nd Great Grandfather and was born 1822 in Keighley, Yorkshire. Any help appreciated
