Help! I've been stuck for weeks and I'm getting frustrated. I'm searching for information on Peter Virtue and his father Samuel Virtue. I don't know where or when they were born. So far all my family have come from Scotland and I've been using Scotland's people but I've hit a wall. I believe Peter was married to Elizabeth Lee born in 1751 in Swinton, Berwickshire in Scotland but I can't find a marriage record for them. Any ideas where else to look?

Looking for some help please! I'm managed to trace quite a bit of my family tree but having some trouble with on person. My great x4 grandad Peter Virtue was married to a woman called Elisabeth Schofield and I have birth certificates for all their children. However on Peters death certificate his parents are correct but it says married to Elizabeth Watson. On Elisabeth's death certificate it says widow of Peter Virtue and her mother is recorded as Sarah Watson formerly Schofield Ms Page. So my question is...do you think Elizabeth Schofield and Elizabeth Watson are the same people? Do you have any suggestions on how to verify it?

That's really good to know I might try that they must have seen so many of these they will probably have a good idea of what it might say/mean

Thanks everyone want of strength seems to be the winner it's sad but I find it so interesting the causes of death from these times. If this has been today most likely Matilda would have survived.

So I'm looking for a bit of help... I'm researching my family tree and have come across a death certificate of my great great grandparents child who died at 2 days old and I cannot for the life of me figure out what the baby died of. I've been staring at for hours! Can anyone work out what it says!? It's the word or words above the line that says from birth
