Had anyone heard of an old morgue somewhere off College Road in Whitchurch?
I understand there might have been a school for poor children in the area as well

Wow thank you Neptune  I had a gut feeling when I first found typewriter mechanic last year that it was him. So glad he now has recognition
Thank you so much for all your assistance in this mission

On dear thought the mystery was solved. Back to the drawing board then. Thought it might have been too easy

I think that I have found William at last thanks to all your help. My searches have found a match with DOB 27/01/1893. Living in Empire Street,West Derby. He has 2 sisters Lucy and Annie and a brother John. He was a typewriter mechanic before the war. If so he would have been 24 when he died.

Thank you everyone for your help. This lad has haunted me and I know he is one of tens of thousands who gave their lives but I feel close to him  :'(
