:o :o Well this is a bit of a blast from the past!  I saw my email notification to say someone had commented and when I looked I'd posted this message in 2006!!  The toddler I mentioned is now a teenager!

Anyway, thank for taking the time to comment.  It is always interesting to hear of new connections even if they aren't necessarily family connections.

MY MY!!! This thread is a blast from the past!!

I haven't been on here for many many months but I received an email notification of your message lincolnshirelad.

What you have to say sounds very interesting, can I ask which marriage you stem from??

I would be very interested to hear from you further - after making sure we both have the right Thomas Robinson and are not talking about 2 different ones, that wouldn't be a first in genealogy!

I forgot to add that with regards to religion, certainly her Grandchildren and Gt Grandchildren went to Baptist and Salvation Army churches so it doesn't lean towards her being Catholic-but you never know.  Thanks again. SBW

Hello shane,

Thank you for your quick reply.

Unfortunately the only piece of information I am armed with is her name and rough year of birth (about 1828ish) if she was 13 as stated on the 1841 census.  She was with her brother George in 1841 in Dorset, they were live-in servants.

Dublin / Horn Family from Malahide

I have only just this morning discovered a possible link to this family and as I've never had cause to research Irish records before i thought this would be the best place to start.
I have a Drusilla Horn on the 1841 census in Dorset aged 13, her birthplace is Ireland.  On subsequent census returns she is married to James Smith and her birthplace is sometimes transcribed as Malahill or Malahide.  I have done a lot of googling this morning with no success and wondered if anyone would be able to point me in the right direction as to where to look next for her birth and her parents and further back....do her family originate from there or elsewhere in Ireland?

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

SBW

Hi, thanks for your input  I think my gt gt gt Aunt was a very poorly lady and must have been in quite a lot of pain as well  :(  :'(

I'm getting a bit confused now as to which parts of the causes of death go together, I'll write it our as it is written - bearing in mind the box is quite small:

Morbus Coxae 22 years
ch. Nephritis
Lardaceous disease of Liver

I'll try to add a scan of the cert

I've just had death cert and it is the correct lady (Zilpha) the informant was my gt gt grandad (her brother in law)

Cause of death - Morbus Coxae 22 years ch. Nephritis lardaceous disease of the liver.

I'm trying to work out what they are at the moment but it doesn't sound good.  I think the first one she had for 22 years is some sort of arthritis of the hips so that would explain the chair she was in, but I'm not totally sure as nothing specific is coming up when i google.
