Hi. Whilst I was looking for something else I came across a photo and some information on a Noongar man, named at birth George Narriel, from the York area of Western Australia. It said in a babbin ceremony he changed his name to Jubytche, written by Daisy Bates, researcher, as Joobaitch. It also said he had been promised five wives in tribal custom, but two had died, ( I assumed prior to marriagable age. ) In addition, he inherited, upon the death of his brother ( not named ) his brothers wife, Yooleenan, and their children.
