Hi
The wait is nearly over!!!.I spoke with the patient ,friendly Sexton on Friday and he said that there had been a few holdups which were to do with loading and checking the system. However he understands that all should be up and running by/at end of October.

Hi Suz,
That is wonderful- thank you so much for the information. You have given me good leads. Went further with the Boggis-Foay marriage. Turns out he was a policeman and was killed in War. So they werent married very long not sure yet if they had any children. Will keep on with the search.
Once again
Thanks
Vicki

Essex / FOAY and MANSELL
« on: Monday 18 January 10 21:03 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
William Henry FOAY married (1) Amelia Elizabeth MANSELL (daughter of William and Amelia nee Snead) in 1892
They had 3 childlren that I am sure of-
Maude Elizabeth(remained spinster), Gladys Amelia(died young), and May Adelaide(married John Oliver Claudius Hill).
I am unsure about whether Amelia Ann (b 1893 d 1894) is one of their daughters.
Amelia Elizabeth died in 1907 and in  1909 William Henry married her sister Matilda.
They had 3 children-Ethel Matilda,  Hilda V  and  Doris R(she died as infant).

Does anyone have any information on  Ethel and Hilda?

Thanks and cheers
Vicki

Hi Colleen,
Ebenezer Attalicus Peabody Hill's  date of birth would have been from late 1894 to sometime 1897-ish.

In the 1911 census he is down as having been born in Eton whereas the previous one had him as Wandsworth.

His younger sister Alice Patricia Hill has a birth that gives the range of 1897 or 1898 (some census give Wandsworth whereas 1911 gives Churchsea which I believe should be Chertsey)
and as the brother before Ebenezer was definitely Feb 1894(Windsor)  that leaves anytime for Ebenezer from late 1894 through to 1896?

His wife's surname was Duxbury.I have his death date and the registration so am going to get a death certificate. If that isnt much help I will try for a marriage one.

My daughter found his headstone and that doesnt show much that is helpful.
Cheers Vicki

I now need to change a lot of what has gone before.

Have found headstone for Ebenezer Attalicus HILL- still not found a birth for him.

Stanley was in fact William Stanley Sangster HILL who died around the Spanish flu time.

Father William Reginald SangsterHILL was actually registered Reginald William Sangster- he and some siblings were registered as Sangster and others as Hill but used the names interchangeably.

Berkshire / Bodley the Builder? 1894ish
« on: Wednesday 25 February 09 19:57 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
Wondering if anyone can tell me if there are electoral rolls or business rolls for New Windsor area?
Apparently Oliver Bodley (with wife and daughter) was living there for some years in the 1890s.
His nephew  John O C Hill was born at 10 Oak Cottage, Arthur Road, New WIndsor in 1894 .
This was either Oliver's house or maybe the Hill family were actually living there rather than staying with Oliver.
Is there any suggestion as to how I can find who owned/rented 10 Oak Cottage at that time?
And if it was Oliver- how do I find employment information etc. By 1901 census he was in Wandsworth.

Any suggestions welcomed...thanks....Cheers Vicki (New Zealand)

Hi Suey
Thanks for your reply. I have 'googled' but wasnt sure if I was in the right direction. So armed with your clear directions I will settle in and google away.
I did wonder if it was Lower St Pulborough as one name rather than Lower Street, Pulborough, if you get my drift. However what you have said makes heaps of sense. Once again thanks heaps...Cheers Vicki

Sussex / Ebenezer BODLEY at St Margarets Lower St Pulborough
« on: Thursday 19 February 09 20:50 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
In the 1911 census Ebenezer and Esther Bodley were servants to a retired clergyman- Robert Jamblin. Ebenezer was a waiter/gardener and Esther was the cook.

IS there anyone who can give me information as to where it is? I have tried googling (not my strong point I may say) without success.

Was it a church? or simply a house ?

Would like to find out some work history for the Bodleys. Ebenezer (born 1860)died in 1949 and his death was registered in Surrey North. Have not traced Esther's(born 1868) death yet.

Many thanks...
Cheers Vicki (New Zealand)
