Some corrections to my post:
The older robert could be the grandfather of the younger Robert. Based on naming patterns, I think the younger Robert's father is named Thomas. The younger Robert names his first son Thomas William Macfarlane. The older Robert has a son named Thomas and a son named William.
The older Robert does have two wives. THe first is Janet Allanshaw, based on the birth certificates of their probable sons, James, Thomas and William. The second is Elizabeth Morrison, based on the birth certificates of Alexander and Janet, two later children. These are all the children listed in the will. This does not mean these are all the children, of course. I do not find deaths for Robert, Janet or Elizabeth. I have looked under maiden and married names for the women.
I did check in memento-mori for graves and did not find any for Alloa Churchyard. I went back to findagrave.com and found a few, but none for any Mcfarlane or Macfarlane or Allanshaw or Andrew Roy, the husband of Janet, the youngest child mentioned in the will. None of the Morrisons seemed to fit.
Thanks again for any help. I am happy to share the files I have downloaded off ScotlandsPeople if anyone would like to see them. these are very common namesand an extra set of eyes can only help.
Thank i n advance, Julie Aagard
