After looking at your posts and picking up some other answers names did you know Belton was also a place in Yorkshire?  I definately think that the Frecknall/Guard line of your tree will lead you back to Yorkshire.  Good hunting.

Wray is also a place in Yorkshire, have you considered that your family may use place names as middle names?  There is definately a Yorkshire theme in your family names.

Hello. Would you be able to tell me where Haddlesey church is as that name is one of my ancestors middle names. Charles Wray Haddlesey Guard born in 1825 at Hope Cove, Devon. I haven't been able to find much out about that name so far. Thanks. Deoxy

Hi Haddlesey is a village in Yorkshire.  http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~rykbrown/haddlesey.htm this link may help you find out more information about the Haddlesey family.

Isle of Man / obtaining marriage certificate help
« on: Wednesday 17 January 07 13:00 GMT (UK)  »
I have found a marriage on the Isle of Man between James Gick and Mary Radcliffe in 1847 St Braddan.  How do I go about obtaining the marriage certificate?  I live in England.

Many thanks

Lynne

I have an old hymn book in my possession that belonged to Margaret Jane Weddall dated 1886.  This is of little value to anybody but family.  I would love to have something belonging to my ancestors so if I can reunite this with its rightful ancestors I will be happy to part with it.

I have researched Margaret Weddall, and know who she is.  Who she was married to where she was born, married etc.  All that I ask is proof that your are a descendent and the book is yours for the cost of postage.

I managed to find Mary Ann Burns living with her brother John in the 1871 census.  Living at  Bloomsburgh Street Duddleston Aston.  Aged 11.  Still no sign of any Connons yet!

There is a family of Connon's living in Aston, which I believe is part of Birmingham.  Maybe you should have a look at them.  Often old family stories are not reliable, so I would not pin all your research on looking for a well off family!

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Re: Sarah Youds Liverpool help finding marriage

Thanks Libby,

I have not been on the computer for a few days as I have been ill.  I have the census records for the Wright family, and found the same Youds in Neston as you.  It is frustrating me that I cannot find their marriage as it is an unusual surname!  I will just have to carry on digging.  I've never let a brick wall stop me yet  lol
