Hi Jenn

Thank you so much for your help. I find it a bit strange that I cannot find a death for Maude. Maybe she just left the family or something which could be why Thomas did not re-marry.

I know that it was a bit of a secret in the family as my husband's mother told me that it was something that was never talked about and was a bit hushed. I suppose some skeletons are just supposed to stay in the closet!!

Thanks again for your help!!

Cheers

Hi Jenn

He was 38 on the marriage certificate in 1949. Which would make it about 1911.

Thanks

Hi All

I am a little stuck at the moment.

I have a marriage certificate for Arnold Thomas Halliday married to Dorothy Ruth Dunlevy in Broken Hill, NSW on 8th December 1949.
This was Arnold's second marriage. He was married to a Clara Cummings in Broken Hill NSW 1935.
On the marriage cert to Dorothy it states that Arnold was born in Broken Hill NSW to Thomas Coulter Halliday and Maude Payne.

This is my problem - I cannot find Arnold's birth on the NSW BDM nor any children to Thomas and Maude. I have found Thomas and Maude's marriage and Thomas's death but nothing else.
The one thing I do know is that Thomas and Maude seperated. I am not sure whether this is divorce or Maude died or what happened as I cannot find a death for Maude.

I would like to find out what happened between Maude and Thomas. Thomas is my husband's ggrandfather and Thomas used to lived with my ggrandmother. They did NOT have any children (which was a relief to us!!)

I would also like to know of any other children Maude and Thomas had.

Any information you can give regarding the Halliday's would be much appreciated!! I know I am asking for alot!

Thank You   ;)

« on: Saturday 22 May 10 14:49 BST (UK)  »
Hi

John Dunleavy, born abt. 1815. in Stradone, Cavan, Ireland
Parents are Francis and Emma?
Married to Mary Coyle? who was born abt. 1812 in Stradone, Cavan, Ireland
Her parents are Phillip and Alice
Emigrated to Australia 29 Jan 1842.
All of the above information has come from an emigration record I have found here in Australia.

I would most appreciate if I could find either birth or marriage for John and Mary.

Thank You in advance for your help!!  :)

Australia Lookups completed / Emigration of woman with 2 names

Hi All

If anybody could help me on this one it would be much appreciated. It has had me stuck for about 12 months now!

I have my gg grandmother - Catherine Casey - death cert which states her mother as Ellen Clifford. I have tried to search for a birth in NSW but was unsuccessful. Recently I have found a half long lost relative who has filled in some blanks. Now try to keep up as it gets confusing.....

Catherine Donoghue was born to Michael Donoghue and Julia Keating in Goulburn 1861.
Michael and Julia were married in Albury in 1857.
Michael died in 1861

Julia re-married as Ellen Clifford to Charley Russell in NSW in 1862.
They had a son named Charles and apparently on the certificate it states mother's name as Ellen Keating.

Russell is also mentioned on one of my certificates which kind of ties everything together.

I am trying to find out the mystery of the name change and WHO this woman actually was.
On her death cert it states she was born in Cahir, Tipperary Ireland and her father was Clifford. But even the date arrived in Aust seems wrong as it indicates ab. 1862.

If i could find an emigration record or something it would be most helpful   ;)

Any info would be great!

Hi all

I have recently found out that a member of my family has one this cup. Apparently it is one of the oldest trophies in AFL history. Has anybody heard of this before or know where I could access information about it??

Apparently my great grandfather won it in Newcastle??

Thanks
