William Bruce was an Acting Sergeant of Police when he married Dorcas Boucher.  The image is on FamilySearch - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSKD-79DW-F?cc=2821281

Dorcas Bruce (born Boucher) was apparently a widow when she died in 1903.  This is as per her death notice on FamilySearch.

William Bloomfield Bruce's estate file is on FamilySearch and lists his parents as William Rush Bruce and Dorcas Bruce (born Boucher).

Ivy Jane Bruce born 1893 was a daughter of Charles Vickers Bruce - this info is also on FamilySearch.

South Africa / Re: Location of Zand River Farm, near Bethlehem, Free State, in 1900?
« on: Tuesday 12 September 17 11:37 BST (UK)  »
There was a farm named Zandrivier which was owned by a Mr. de Jongh in the late 1800's / early 1900's situated approximately 35kms from Bethlehem on the road to Bloemfontein.  The farm is now the site of a village called Paul Roux.

South Africa / Re: Byrne Settlers
« on: Wednesday 08 June 16 13:26 BST (UK)  »
William Henry Savory is not listed on the Byrne Settlers lists.  He is listed on the British Settlers in Natal list by Shelagh O'Byrne Spencer but the name of the ship on which he travelled is, unfortunately, not mentioned.

Kind regards,

Pat
