I was thinking that perhaps Ann was either married before John Reid or perhaps even had other Illeg children before John Reid... When she had these children with John she would of been 40 + of close to it. For back them it seems very late to be starting a family. (Just a Thought)

I believe John Reid born 11 May 1806, Baptised 2 Oct 1806 in Jedburgh may of married 19 Jul 1835 to Isabella Bell in Wilton, Roxburgh... Had a child Agnes E Reid 10 Nov 1830 Hawick, Roxburgh.

James Brown  that married Margaret Reid on 16 Jul 1834, his parents Thomas Brown and Mary Rutherford. James died 13 JUL 1856, 14 Burnwynd, Jedburgh, Roxburghshire

Ann Frater /Fratter  died 25 Nov 1839 at Burnwynd, Jedburgh, Roxburghshire, aged 75 so that would make her birth at about 1776.
Their was  a Ann Fraiter born in 1777 to a William Fraiter of Cavers (Possibly) the Above Ann

Even tho Margaret was born 20 Nov 1904 and John born 11 May 1806, they was both Baptist on the
2 Oct 1806.

Be happy to send you any records I have.

Thank you Pennines, we have kept this in mind, they are very elusive lot :)

Yes belhay, I have those records also from Yetholm, and think that Jane may well be the illeg. child of our John Frater but as yet no proof.
I also think that Thomas is illeg. child of David  as Betty went on to marry another guy not long after.
Isabell Frater in the 1841 census is Harvey as she had our Alexander with her and his brother and agin in the 1851 census had another of the sons with her.
I have no doubt that all these Frater's around Yetholm and the borders of Northumberland are all connected its just a matter of joining the dots and getting them all in the right places. Not an easy task as getting back there the records are so few and far between.

Thank you all for taking a look at it all, its always great to have fresh eyes look at things as you never know what may turn up :)

Possible help

Thomas Frater wife Isabella had a daughter Isabella born at Kirk newton about 1808 so it,s possible John was also there at Kirknewton
young Isabella was at Bamburgh 1851 census and the headstone for thomas and children  is at bamburgh

John is not the son of Thomas Frater and Isabella Weddle, John  however is most likely to be a brother of Thomas Frater.  And Thomas and Isabella did also have a son John in 1806 Kirknewton.

But  the  John Frater above  is also the father of children born in 1812 so there is no way that he is the son of Thomas and Isabella as this would of made him only 6 year old when he had his own children. Tho there is lots of trees on ancestry  as having them as father and son (I really wish people would do their homework)

I have access to a transcript for Crookham Presbyterian 1811 to 1833

Do you still have access? If so do you see any Frater in there?

Thanking you so much Trish  and Boo, I do have both of your information....  Just trying  to connect to dots  or in this case  the right kids to the right parents. I have no doubt they are all connected but just in what order  would be nice to know.

Would be great if all 139 tree's on ancestry are right, but I would still love some kind of source

Thank You all
Chris
