I am looking for the whereabouts of Richard Briscoe before 1891.

He was born in 1831 in Handley, Cheshire.
Parents: Thomas and Elizabeth Briscoe

married to Emma Elizabeth Brookes (born abt 1840 in Manchester) on 17 Apr 1860 in Aston, Birmingham

Residence in 1891:
169 Heath St, Birmingham, Warwickshire

Occupation: Workhouse Porter in Birmingham

Children:
Arthur Richard
Walter Thomas (born Sep 1864, died Dec 1899)
Frank (b 1869)
George E (b 1871)
John H (b 1876)
Louisa (b 1878)

thanks again to all of you!

Sorry I didnīt reply sooner.

I am moving to my grandmothers (from Germany to England!) tomorrow.
(Finally I am leaving home and coming back home  ;)  )
So I unfortunately havenīt had a lot of time lately.

But Iīll be back after I have set up everything.
AND after Iīve got that marriage certificate, of course   ;D
(Thatīs my mission this holiday  :) )

thanks for your reply.

Well her husband Edward Rock was born in Birmingham. I suppose she met him there. According to the 1881 census he was an iron moulder.
Unfortunately I donīt know anything about her parents!

I am looking for the reason why Elizabeth Emery (who was born in Montgomeryshire in 1842, living in Birmingham in 1881) left Wales.

Does anybody know why she could have decided to emigrate?
