Hi Monica

It looks like Fine in brackets and then something like Flechanny written above.

Could I check Mary's birthplace, please?  You say
Quote
Mary b 13 Sep 1826 Forres Morayshire
but all the census entries have her born Knockbain circa 1830

I'm wondering if this is Malcolm in 1881 with a relative, Alexander Cameron:

1881
55 Thomson Street, Govan - multi-occ

Alexander Cameron, hd, mar, 42, house carpenter, b. Urquhart,  Rossshire
Elizabeth, w, 33, b. Glasgow
Alexander, s, 9, b. Partick
John McM, 4, b. -do-
Andrew D, s, 1, b. -do-
--
Malcolm McKenzie, lodger, 21, spirit dealers assistant, b. Urquhart,
Charles Frazer, lodger, unm, 27, -do-, b. Morayshire

Added - this looks a better possible for Mary Cameron's birth/bpt :

Just remembered that there was quite a spate of building the 2 storey houses with the dormer windows in the Highlands  around 1921- ish.

Would that fit ?

JL

PS - usually the bigger houses were  the school house and manse before then

No Nixon/Murray marriage but a Watt/Nixon marriage:

1931 - Glasgow Calton - Samuel Nixon and Jean McIntosh Watt

Nothing with a surname Nixon (soundex) and a birth circa 1893 ish from 1961-1965 in Lanarkshire

BUT a Jean Nixon, other names Murray Watt in Old or West Kilpatrick, Dunbartonshire in 1962.  This death cert is too recent to view on line and would have to be ordered.

JL

Added - missed her age - she was 68 - so born circa 1894  :)

Could I just add that I lived in a corrugated roofed croft house like that in Ross-shire on and off from 1984 to 1993.

Very few wooden roofs in the Highlands - too wet!

My guess is 1940s-1950s by the style of the 2 storey house.

JL

PS - very noisy when it rained which was often  ::)
