Wondering if someone can tell me more about the farm called Ty'r Andrew, formerly Haford, in Blaina? I know it was purchased by some men with the surname Andrew. Any information is helpful. Thank you!

Can anyone tell me if the Penygarn Baptist Chapel near Pontypool was somehow related to a farm called Penygarn near Cwncelyn? My GG Aunt Phoebe Lewis was baptized at Penygarn. I've been told preachers traveled to homes to do this. Thanks for any information or clarification.

On the 1850 US census, Bloom, Columbia, PA Henry Andrew Lewis is called
'Andrew' and listed as 40 years old.

Elizabeth and John Davies were Henry Andrew's sister in law and her husband. So no help there.

In 1850 (Henry) Andrew Lewis is listed as age 40. This is where I got the birth age at about 1810. His age on the 1841 Wales Census is 20, but so is his wife's. I know she was born in 1811 or 1814, as I have visited her grave. The numbers are hard to read, but it's one of those dates. She is listed as 35 on the 1850 census.

The names Elizabeth and John Davies on Henry's marriage record refer to his sister in law and her husband.

I am fairly sure Henry Andrew died in 1857, so he is not on another census. He drowned, so no grave with dates. His body was not recovered.

Any other questions - please ask! This has me stumped.

I am looking for the parents/siblings of Henry Andrew Lewis. He was most likely born between 1810-1814. He married Mary Prosser in 8 Nov 1835 in the parish church in Aberystruth, Abergavenny. He drowned in Pittsburgh, PA in 1857. There is no tombstone - no exact birth or death date. No records in Pennsylvania listing his age. No parents listed on his marriage record. He appears on the 1841 census with Mary and daughter Phoebe (b 1839 Nantyglo) His older son, Thomas Henry (b. 1837 Cendal/Beaufort) is in the 1841 census with his grandparents, William and Sarah Prosser. His son, Henry Zachariah, was born August 1841. Henry Andrew and his family emigrated to Pennsylvania in 1844. He is listed on the 1850 US Census, Bloom, Columbia County, as Andrew Lewis. Subsequent children born in Pennsylvania were William,  Sarah, Elizabeth and Hannah. Would like ANY ideas as to who his parents might be.  Thank you!!

Hi Koromo,
I do have a 'loose' Henry Lewis, but now I can see that the one you are looking for is not the same one as mine. I have been searching for the parents or siblings of a Henry Lewis for 9 years. I believe he was born between 1810 and 1814. Disappointed we don't seem to have a connection.... I think you might have posted some information attached to my Henry Andrew Lewis m. Mary Prosser on Family Tree? Three of the children that were attributed to that Henry were incorrect, as he emigrated to Pennsylvania in 1844 and was a miner. Also, on the 1841 census, my Henry is with his wife, Mary, rather than his mother. This does help us both in one way though; it eliminates John and Margaret as the parents of my Henry and eliminates Henry Andrew Lewis on FamilySearch, father of Thomas, Phoebe, Henry, William, Sarah, Elizabeth and Hannah as your Henry. I have a giant folder devoted to research on Henry Lewis.... if I find one born 1819 I will be in touch. If in your research you find a Henry b. 1810-1814 let me know!
