Warwickshire / burial site
« on: Wednesday 17 February 21 14:31 GMT (UK)  »
How do I go about finding where my moms' brother is buried? His name is Keith Raymond Rhodes and all that we know about him is he was born and died in the first half of 1945 in Solihull, apparently, it was a taboo subject when my mom was a child so she knows nothing of his grave. Can anyone help please  ???

Can anyone shed any light on why my grandad had another name added between birth and getting married? He was Bernard Leo Rhodes b.28th April 1903 d. 18th November 1964. Talking to my mom the other day and she says that on his marriage certificate he is down as Bernard Leo Joseph Rhodes can anyone tell me where Joseph has come from?

Thanks in advance

World War One / Re: The Great War

The grave reference was confusing me :D I presumed that as he was mentioned on the roll of Honour for Birmingham that he was Killed in Action and that the  name in Yardley Cemetery was a memorial for him and others. But it appears he died at home and there is a grave at Yardley. Thanks to all who took the time to put me on the right track...…………….I think  ;)

It appears I may have 2 relatives that served in the Great War, John Henry Osborn 1873 - 1916 served in the Kings 5th Battalion Shropshire Light Infantry and his son John Osborn  1896 - 1917 served in the Royal Worcester Regiment. To top that I have 3 numbers 28537, 5416 and 9108 relating to various documents, roll calls, signing up papers etc. Could anyone help me out as who's number is who's as I appear to be going round in circles.
Thanks in advance

Yes she is Grahams eldest daughter, we sadly lost him 7 years ago. , I'm sure Helen will love to chat, she remembers a Julian who she thinks is your dad's brother, is that correct?

Me again Karen, just looked at the tree I'd got so far and I have got the three on them on the tree, as you can see from the dates I do a bit then leave it then do a bit more and I obviously forgot to tell the wife  ::) Anyway I have got Victor as marrying Julia Florence Irene Webb, would this be the same person or have I got the wrong marriage?

Hi Karen, I am actually doing my wife's tree at the moment, and after showing her your e-mail it appears you are related as Rowland was also her great grand father. My wife recalls having an uncle Vic and Glynn and she says that Victor and Julia lived in Redditch Worcestershire. She'd love to see any photo's you have especially as she only has one photo and that's of her grandmother (Dylys).

bye for now

Regards

Alan

I am trying to find my great grandmothers date of birth without much success. The only info i have is that she was born around 1861, married Edgar Samuel William Rhodes in Aston on the 1st Jan 1887, had 6 children and died 2nd Jan 1920 in Warwick aged 59. Her Father was George who had died before she married and her mother was Maria E. She was born in London according to the census's, but even then i can't find her on the ones prior to her marriage i.e. 1871 & 1881 and unfortunately that is all i know. Any help greatly appreciated. ???
