HI!Rootschatters,

Does anyone know of the family of my G.Grandmother Catherine Robertson born 1840.died 9/2/1886,in Tranmere,Birkenhead,Cheshire. the only details I have, is on the marriage certificate, of Catherine to Cornelius Roebuck,on the 23 of May 1864, at the Parish Church Liverpool, her father was down as Peter Robertson,a Teacher. according to closer relatives, she was supposedly born in the Shetland Isles, but on the census it says born in Caithness.
Hoping you can supply some info.
                                           Cheers,Margaret.

Caithness / Re: Robertson,Shetland
« on: Tuesday 27 November 07 17:12 GMT (UK)  »
Ev, It seems a fair possibility that the Caithness Catherine could be her, seeing
that the Father was a Teacher,a doubt in my mind though is the birth date as It consistently crops up in my research as to being born in 1840 (Census & Death Certificate.  I cant find Cornelius Roebuck in the 1861 census,it could be that his trade being a Journeyman Painter,he was in other parts of the country.
  Thanks again for your contribution,
                                               Margaret
