In first post you had her in 1911 English Census am I right?

Is George the only child you have of Edgar Tindall  and Elizabeth?

Well i reckon a well worded petition statement with a couple thousand signatures would have to make some impact. At least would highlight people's point on view on this matter.

Hi Oaks and Acorns,

I wonder would a petition to the Minister be of any value?

1901 Census should be online in 2010.

Do the children of Edgar Tindall & Elizabeth correspond name wise with any of the children of Patrick Higgins and Sarah Forbes.

Was one of them Sarah?

Names of child might be the biggest clue we can use at moment.

A stewart might have only being classed as a Labourer by the third party filling out the census. Plus in the Irish Census it was desired to be categorised into defined occupations so might just have categorised him as General Labourer. Plus Elizabeth might have made her father's job sound more important too.

Have you the marriage record of your Michael Callaghan?

Your first posted that his father was Eugene and now you think Thomas that's a big jump?

Picking random Michael Callaghan's wont work i am afraid. All the post are getting very confusing and need some logic about the research. And i mean this is a nice way.

What you need to do is get as much solid information about your Michael Callaghan that you can be 100% sure of.

1. His Death record does this list his parents? In UK and Ireland it wont probably. But in US and Australia/NZ it should?

2. His marriage record must at least list his father's name usually if not the mother's also, depending on what place he married. Also Church record will have different information to Civil Registration Records.  have you exhausted all these areas?

3. Other information his will, ship manifest, grave, occupation of father on wedding cert etc can all help

4. Children's names can prove major hints to past generations!

Its important to work back from what you know.

Otherwise you could spend years picking random Michael Callaghan's.

If you cant be sure of anything on his generation maybe his children generation will be the one to work on first. So we are fully sure who Michael Callaghan wife's name was.

Otherwise

If you are 100% sure that your Michael Callaghan married Julia Gerrard you need to order their marriage from www.groireland.ie using the below information. The form is not designed for all this information but include it where you can. And leave blank or put N/A the PPS and other fields that are not relevant.

Michael Callaghan and Julia Gerrard
Registration District: Navan
Year and Quarter: Jan-Mar 1898
Volume 2 Page 794

This is the only way to move forward this research. As this record will give father's names and other solid information.

Could this be her family in 1911 Census in Ireland.

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Wicklow/Arklow_Rural/Kilcarra__East/893936/

Would the names in the census add up? Perhaps she named some of her children after family members like Sarah etc.

The Patrick Higgins in Census was a General Labourer and Roman Catholic does this agree with the marriage record in England of Elizabeth Higgins?

For the Patrick Higgins in the census this appears to be possible marriage

Patrick Higgins
Registration District: Rathdrum
Year and Quarter: Apr-Jun 1880

Sarah Forbes
Registration District: Rathdrum
Year and Quarter: Apr-Jun 1880

The marriage is also on this website date given as 26 April 1880
