Hi Greg,

I have WENN ancestors from Downham Market, Denver, and Wimbotsham, Norfolk. I would love to compare my information with yours.  I have William born unknown parish about 1774, married Anne RUST in Denver, their son William born 1803 in Denver, married Elizabeth ? in Denver; their son William born 1832 in Wimbotsham, married Eliza ATKINS in Downham Market; their son John born 1852 in Downham Market. Shortly thereafter they sailed to the U.S., where they settled and farmed in Saginaw Co., MI.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Claire

Hi Pamela!

Now I remember your message. Wow, I must be losing it.

It's a long story: I'm descended from William and Ann's son Joseph HANDS, born 1856 in Woking, Surrey. He married Emma Kezia HUCKLE in 1876. Their first five children, including my great-grandmother Edith Malvina HUCKLE, were born in Dartford, Kent. In 1886, they sailed to Australia aboard the Harbinger. In Australia they had another five children, the last two of whom died, Emma dying either during childbirth or shortly thereafter in 1898. Edith married Horace Maitland St. Albans HOWARTH, and they had one child, Daphne Florence HOWARTH, my grandmother. She married an American soldier, Charles WENN, who took her back to the United States to live. They had two children. Their son, Dallas WENN, was my father. Here's the amazing part: I was given up for adoption at birth and never met ANY of these people. As an adult I located my aunt Barbara, Dallas's sister. All the genealogy research I've done on my own since Barbara knew very little. So, needless to say...I have no pictures of the HANDS family. But I'm looking for any info I can get. I didn't know Ann's maiden name was Carr, for example.

Your grandfather, Henry HANDS, was my 1st cousin 4 times removed. In other words, William and Mary Ann HANDS were my 2nd great-grand uncle and aunt, and William's parents, William and Ann HANDS, were my 3rd great-grandparents. I think I may have also replied to a post you submitted at Ancestry.com. I would like to share what information I have with you.
