Thank you, much appreciated :)

....Ann HUGHES looks like a grand-daughter
....Wasn't able to find 1841 previously 'cos of "Quest" mislisting
...Great to have the marriage info...not sure how to find more information on parents...of:

James GUEST, b. 1775, Dudley...I think it might be William GUEST from the IGI and
Sarah SOUTHALL, b. 1782, Lye Waste...I think it might be John SOUTHALL from the IGI

Marriage Look up completed.

...for James GUEST and Sarah SOUTHALL, 2nd September 1804 would be most appreciated.

James and Sarah appear on the 1851 census, Double Row, Darby End, Nail Maker
James b. 1775, Dudley Worcester, age 75
Sarah b. 1782, Lye Waste, age 68

Still researching, but they had numerous children (who, in turn, had numerous children) as follows:

William, c. 1806 (might be James's Dad's name)
John (might be Sarah's Dad's name)
Mary (James's Mum's s name possibly)
Sarah
Elizabeth (Sarah's Mum's possibly)
James, b. 1816  = Matilda nee PLANT (mine- 2x)...married 1835, 15th March, Old Swinford
Rosannah
Priscilla
Daniel

Born in Stourbridge myself but miles from the area now for looking at local records...

Thank you,

Lesley :)

Thank you :)

For:

John, 45,  Joseph, Martha, and John, 14,  in Hazel Grove, Stockport...1841

John, 14, went to Hull in the 1840s, married there in 1847 and returned in 1862c.

John dad, 45, Joseph and Martha may have stayed in Stockport, Cheshire.

What would have prompted the move to Hull, did John just pack up and take a train over there?   Or did the whole family go together?  Either way, its amazing John moved back and forth in those times.

Thanks once again for the 1841 census information on John PERRY.

Regards Lesley.

This is wonderful :)

Thank you very much for checking the local record office for the

September 20th 1847 marriage, Sculcoates all Saints:

John PERRY

Mary, nee AINSWORTH

I will take a look at this information but hopefully there will be a 1841 census listing for:

John PERRY, age 16c. (b. 1826c. Stockport, Cheshire) with father John PERRY, b. 1800c.

possibly in Wincolmlee, Hull or Stockport, Cheshire.

John PERRY (born b. 1826, Stockport) returned to Stockport in 1862c.

And:

Mary PERRY nee AINSWORTH in Hull on the 1841 with father Stan AINSWORTH (or possibly Samuel, as John and Mary's first child was Samuel James) and a mother/sister Alice AINSWORTH possibly.

John and Mary's children's names were: Samuel James, Alice, John, Walter, Mary, Hannah Eliza, Emma, Sarah, Ann and Frank.

This is definitely a step forward and I very much appreciate your help.

Regards,

Lesley

Cheshire Lookup Requests / Re: Robert LOWE, b. 1898, Stockport on 1901
« on: Thursday 01 May 08 01:44 BST (UK)  »
Looking for parents of:

Robert LOWE, b. 1902, June, Stockport (8a 15, BMD) and:

Minnie SHEPLEY, his wife, born March 1901, Stockport, Cheshire (8a 219, BMD)

Minnie may just have made the 1901 census, or they may be listed in other birth records available in Stockport?

This is to find their connection with PERRY ancestors on earlier censuses.

Regards,

Lesley

Thank you for your reply.

Your information was helpful.  Researching is not as straight forward as it often seems ???

There is a Robert LOWE married to a Minnie SHEPLEY, Stockport, in June 1921.  (BMD).

This marriage seems to tie in with a Marjorie LOWE born December 1921, Stockport.  (BMD).

My grandad PERRY, b. 1905, Stockport, Cheshire was related to the parents of Marjorie LOWE, from Bredbury Bar.  I only know the daughter's first name (Marjorie) and that her parents were older than my grandad.

Robert's family were most likely from around the Stockport area on the 1901 census.

Thank you once again for your reply.

Regards, Lesley

Re: Robert LOWE, b. 1898, Stockport on the 1901. :)

Would like to identify his family on the 1901.  He later married Minnie SHEPLEY, b. 1901, Stockport, following with a daughter Marjorie.

Robert may be related to my grandad PERRY's family from Stockport on the earlier censuses.

Thank you.

Regards,

Lesley
