Canada / Curtis / Morfey family in Canada
« on: Sunday 17 January 10 13:36 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
I am trying to trace descendants of the Curtis and Morfey families who are supposed to have emigrated to Canada around 1940 - 1950.
My grandmother's sister, Ethel Maud Wray (b1898) married an Edward Morfey in 1921. They had two children: Ethel and Arthur Morfey. Ethel Morfey married a William Curtis in Essex UK in 1941.
My family tradition is that Ethel and Edward Morfey emigrated to Canada and were never heard from again. No sign of the Curtis family or Arthur Morfey in any UK records either. So our guess is that they also emigrated.
Is any Canadian lister researching any of these families?

Northamptonshire / Re: Mallard family in Northamptonshire

Hi
I think we have a connection. Though a difference going back to George  & Thomas. Contact me directly by email. I have Thomas Mallard (father to Sarah) living at 19 Little Shire Lane Strand in 1851 [HO 107 / 1512 f.201 p.29]
I have some problems with Agnes Mallard: she was either Agnes Perry or Parry.

Northamptonshire / Mallard family in Northamptonshire

Is any lister researching the Mallard family of Northamptonshire?
My ggg Grandfather was George Mallard. He was born around 1811 in Northampton and moved to the Strand area of London where he married Frances Bringlow in 1831.
Found on the 1841 census: HO 107 / 741 b1
1851 census: HO 107 / 1512 f.201 p.29
I can trace the family forward fairly well, but I would like to delve into George's Northampton roots if possible. Has any lister got a George Mallard in their Northants. family who may fit?
Kind Regards

Hi
I'm interested in an Alfred Surridge. He married an Ursula May Steer in 1927, in Stepney. Wonder if there is a connection?

Hi Katie
contrary to my post at the top of this list, my Morfey ancestors came from the Suffolk / Norfolk area. I don't know if you have come across any info on this branch in your search?
Glad to share any of my Morfey data with you
Kind Regards
