I am sorry for not getting back to you sooner, but I have been away for a week. Thankyou for all the info. now delving into all the suggestions you gave me, the obit for Hugh was very helpful and the added bonus of a photo of him. Have written to the funeral directors on your advise, so let hope the stage coach will not take to long to get to Australia.

Once again thank you for all your help, greatly appreciated.  :)

Looking for any info. on the following family..
John Martin c 1841 Dublin
Hannah c 1850 Portsmouth
Clara c 1871 Portsmouth
Ernest Edward c 1872 Kent
Maud c 1875 Kent
John c 1876 Ireland ?
Florence 1880 Ireland ?

In 1871 John, Hannah & Clara are on the 1871 English Census, John is with the Army.
In 1891 The family are on the English Census. John is chief warder at the military prison in Chester.
In 1901                       "         Scotland    "          "             "                             "           "  Stirling
In 1911                       "         Irish          "          "  is a gate keeper and on Army Pens. in County Down.

Nothing throws any light in 1881 in England or Scotland. I do know that he was chief warder at the military prison in Cork in 1894.
Any info. on this 1881 period would be appreciated. Thanks from Australia.

Kent Lookup Requests / Re: Spillett Family - Chartham Parish Records

 :) Hi Tony

Thanks for your prompt reply, really appreciated.

Well you came up with six out of my seven on census results. And Willie Henry was on census, so I think for sure, that two died between census dates. To make up the nine on 1911 census as being born.

Thanks once again.

Derek. Queensland. Australia.

Hi

Sorry for the long reply, but have been travelling in Australia, can't get wireless in a lot of places.

Yes, that was a topic that I started years ago re: Griffiths/Lyons families. I have done a lot of research for Alun (your brother) I think it would be best if you contacted him, as you would understand, it's not my place to pass on research that I have done for other people.

So at this stage that is all I tell you. If you need to make contact in the future, email is
