Sorry Rosie, I meant the image of that record please, not the certificate. Obviously I know you wouldn't have that. :)

Have you discounted this one
Death Dec qtr 1871
Poyser    Thomas    age 36
Aston reg district    6d   187

Is there any possibility you could kindly send me the image of this please Rosie, or provide a link where I can find it please? I do have an active subscription with Ancestry at the moment so if it's on there, I'll be able to view it.

Thank you kindly, once again.

Hello Rosie

Many thanks for all the messages of help/assistance. Yes we struggled with Letitia for a while as she did indeed have a number of marriages that confused us - Cox and Fox we believe are both right, too. As for the death one you asked if we've ruled out, I'm not sure. I'll pass that information on to my friend and see what he says.

Warwickshire Lookup Requests / Thomas Poyser - Death records? Can't find anywhere!
« on: Friday 25 August 23 16:37 BST (UK)  »
I am struggling to find any death records for a Thomas Poyser, born 14th March 1835 in Birmingham and married a Letitia Brown born around 1837 in Halfshire, Milton, Worcestershire. They had 3 children - Thomas born around 1862 in Aston, Francis George Poyser born 31st December 1865 who died same month/year and Richard Alfred Poyser (sometimes listed as Alfred Richard) born 29th May 1872 in Kidderminster Worcestershire but died Q2 1921 in Birmingham. Thomas' parents were a John Poyser (1798) and Maria Bowater (1808 to 1855) but I can't find any death record at all for Thomas! Can anyone kindly help/assist or point me in the right direction please? We suspect/believe it could be between 1872 and 1874 but not 100% certain on that, yet.

Thanks, Nick

Hi,

Does anyone know if (the previously referenced) Norton Green Hall still exists? Google search results only return a Norton Hall and Ford Green Hall.

Thanks,

Ryan.

Hello Ryan

As far as I can tell, yes it does. I just found this, which I hope you will find of interest.

Hello everyone,

I've come across an 1871 census for Lullington in Derbyshire where 2 of the people I'm researching, both single aged 22 and 17 are shown as both living with a family of 3 and their occupations listed as farm servants Ind - presumably independent? Can anyone shine a light on the difference please and any information on what makes independent farm servants different to ordinary farm servants please?

Ok thank you for letting me know. Apologies about that. I wasn't aware. I see a moderator has already kindly removed it. I'll remember that for future reference.

Welcome to RootsChat, Kathleen. You and Nick will be able to exchange private messages when you have made a few more posts. Then your private message function will work. Replying to this will count towards your post total.
Your father's involvement in the John Muir Trust interested me. I live in Scotland and have done environmental work as a volunteer and have heard of the John Muir Trust.

Thank you so much for passing on that information, Maiden Stone. Just out of curiousity, how many posts do new users need to make in order for the DM/PM system to work for them? I've PMed her anyway so hopefully she'll be able to read it and respond.

Like you, I'd find information about his involvement with the John Muir Trust interesting, as well as his involvement with the other things, too. Sadly most of the responses I got from the Community Council either told me everything was already in the obituary or they hadn't got further information. One reply, however, was very enlightening to a point but sadly, despite my replying quickly, I never heard back from him again. :(
