Elizabeth McDevitt's parents were James McDevitt and Margaret Porter. James died in Donegal in 1843. Margaret migrated to Australia in 1849 with five of her children. Her eldest daughter, Mary Jane was already in NSW. Margaret McDevitt nee Porter married Walter Grey in 1850. Walter Grey had land in Hanging Rock, NSW which was later sold to Andre Crawley.
I have documents supporting all the above information.

Hello,
I have written to my cousin to find out where she got the information re Julia McMahon and Michael McKeon's marriage.
I have found on the net that the Goodbodys built worker's cottages in Clashawan and in Church Street Clara, homes for the office staff and foremen.
Michael was living in Clashawan until 1883/84. He was living in Erryarmstrong by Nov 1894.

Hi,
Yes, this is the correct family. Michael married Julia on 9th May 1885. Julia died on 24th November 1894. They had five children. He then married Mary Rigney and had eight children. I have been unable to find/prove either of their births.

Hello,
My grandmother was Elizabeth McKeon/McKeown. She was born in Clara, Offaly. Her parents were Michael McKeon and Mary Rigney. Clara is near Tubber and Tinnamuck.
I am trying to trace the family back further and have my DNA tested in the hope of finding some matches.

Cork / Re: Regan Family - County Cork

I have an Ellen (Helen) Regan born in Cork c 1805. She may of had a sister, Joanna bc 1800. Both women were tried at the Summer Assizes in Cork in 1821 and transported to Australia. Joanna's father is recorded as John on her death certificate.
Any help would be appreciated.

Aberdeenshire Lookup Requests / Re: Ann Young - convict

Hello,
I had assumed that the land grant was for James junior but off course in family history you can never assume anything. The Bathurst registers may well have gone missing as I have another Bathurst family that just disappeared. (James and Ellen Dooley)

I have a photograph of James jnr's grave if anyone is interested.

I have just read the article re James Parker and Queen Charlotte Vale. The James Parker would be the son of James and Ann as it stated he was born in the colony. George Schofield talks about meeting 'old Parker'. This means we have James in Bathurst in 1828 and now in 1834.

We have had our DNA done through 23and me. They don't test for gypsy blood but there is a DNA site that does. I will see if we can transfer our results to them.
