Can i suggest you post this on a site called "old hereford photos "- it has its own web site and a page on facebook which is incredibly popular with the older locals and has photos and comments.  I am sure someone will help you with information - I have heard of the Dr and seen video footage of him but didn't move into Hereford till the 80s.

The Lighter Side / Re: What is the largest family you've found in your family tree ?

Grandad was one of 14,  all roughly 18 months to 2 years apart  no multiple  and no known losses all by the same mother and father . Great gran was a roman Catholic her offspring all became  cof E! - the eldest daughter ran off to nurse  writing home it was far better then looking after her brats of brothers.! Only one died in war. 3 fought ,  the rest went farming .4 never had children ( that we know of !!!) and most lived till their late 80s. Grandads name was valentine  simply because he was born on that day!

Both my mother and my late father have always used their second names for no apparent reason other than one parent ( possibly their Mums) not wanting to use the name the father had put on the birth certificate. I do know that my paternal grandfather came back from market to announce that he had registered my twin aunts - and named them without consulting my Nan. We live right on the welsh border and I've known several people who didn't use their first name.  :)

MY grandmother was 92 when she died less than five years ago - my great great grandad came from a line of long livers (!) was born in 1837 and died in 1933. his daughters except for my great gran who died of childbirth fever ( her sisters all 4 had no children) lived well into their 80s and 90s .

Technical Help / Re: ITV Player - how to 'join' ?

If you read the page you don't need a pin number unless you wish content to be blocked - if you want instant and uncensored access just use that side of the page - I don't know if you need blocked access - its not something I would do on such a site( it being main stream tv) even when my kids were young.but thats entirely a parental decision. if you want the site locked i have no idea but as you said you were over 18 I'd jst try that option!
