Hi, sorry I was so long in getting back to you. Yes, if This subject needs to be moved, please do so and I will see what happens there. Our Grandfather was quite a mystery to all of us kids and we are trying to track down any and all our relations from that marriage.

Hi Gaget, thanks for helping. The dates I have for John & Catherine were provided to me by my sister in law who did a lot of research on the Duffs. Where she got the dates, I'm not sure. However the new found cousin who wrote a book on this family also mentioned both of them. And yes both Little Dunkeld and Logereit

Perthshire / Duff / McGlashan

Hi everyone. Norm Redpath here from Ontario, Canada.
I am researching my mother's ancestors. and I need some clarification on the Duff side of the house. Her GGG Grandfather was a John Duff, born 1740 and his wife was Cathrine McGlashan also born 1740.
They had 6 children, James & Anna b 1971; Thomas b 1776; David b 1780; an unnamed child b 1782 and Donald b 1784. They are listed as being born in Little Dunkeld, Scotland.
Can any one shed any light on this as to a marriage date and location and possibly their parents. It would bee very much appreciated as I have just been in touch with a descendant of THOMAS. I am descended from Davids branch. He married a Jean (Jane) McDonald and they were married in 1806 in Perth. Had 4 children born in Newbegging,Auchtergaven, Scotland.
Thanks in advance
Norm

Hi Deb, you have been busy. Quick too. Thanks!
Any idea on how I would go about tracing the family forwards. I believe we have some cousins out there thanks to our grandfather being married twice. (at the same time) There might even be a third time in Detroit Michigan. But that's another story.
Thanks again, Norm

Hi, Norm Redpath here from Canada. My maternal grandfather, William Roderick McLeish, (Canadian) was posted to England during the first world war. Although he was married at the time, to my grand mother, he was married again as per the story below. Can anyone shed any light on this family of Warner's.  If by chance I'm in the wrong County in England, please redirect me. Thanks, Norm

Aileen Joan born June 2 1917, at 1 Varna Villas, Broomhill, Orpington, daughter of William Roderick McLeish and Elsie Winnifred McLeish formerly Warner

Parents were married 18 May 1917. Elsie was 19 years old, a spinster, with no rank or profession listed. Her father was Arthur Warner, a Coachman (Domestic). Witnesses were Arthur Warner and Alice Warner. [may be brother and sister in law]

.

This may be the family I am seeking
Arthur – b – Midhurst, West Sussex
Annie – b – 1863 Islington, London
Beatrice Annie – b – 1884 Orpington, Bromley
Arthur William – b – 1886

Hi, Norm here from Canada and I am researching my wife's family tree, (she's a Harrogate native)
Anyhow I have some information on her Paternal Grand father. He is John Charles Askwith born c 1898, married to a Gladys Pratt. abt 1921/22
As far as I can ascertain, his father was a Charles William Askwith born c 1875 married to a Helen ? abt 1897 and I think he had 3 brothers, William, Norman and Arthur (mental hospital in Menston) and a sister named Mary. They were from Harrogate.
Thank you all,
Norm
