Yes thanks Gadget.  I have been doing some footwork as well and have looked at his death certificate (indeed I have an extract).  I know its difficult to read all the signs.  One of Joseph's sons ended up living in Staffs so there are connections.  I think the right track is George Vaughan from Ireland.

Many many thanks for all your help.  I can get on with things now I have some options.

Thanks Gadget.  Things are hotting up.  I have also looked at a few of the Vaughans you have came up with.  Would there be any point in getting a look at Joseph and Edith's marriage certificate.  I wondered if further details of Joseph's former address ect might be on it.  ;D

Joseph Vaughan, my grandfather.  Born 1886 or 1885.  parents Joseph Vaughan and Sarah Watters.  Not sure where he was born but came from Gateshead to Kippford around 1920 where he married my grandmother.  He died in 1947 and is buried in Colvend Churchyard
