Thank you all very much for the info.  It’s so fascinating you can tell by hairstyle and clothes what year a photo was taken.  Jim1 how could you tell she is married? Is that a ring on her finger.?

Hello
I am wondering if someone would be able to date these 2 photos. Taken in Clapham, I believe part of the Hewson family. Same studio. Not sure if taken the same time as the background seems to be different.
Thanks

Hi

Looks like Ethel’s mother was Jessie Ann Brown, whose sister was Charlotte Agnes Brown - my great great grandmother . Their parents were William Brown And Sarah Byron.  I’ve researched a bit of this family if you need to know anything.

Fantastic thanks for that info. I"ll just keep checking back every couple of months. The order in the link Debra put was pretty much date order so hopefully even without a name search option it should be easy enough to find.

I thought I'd have to pay a researcher to physically get a copy so that's fantastic it will eventually be online.

Thanks Cando

I did have the newspaper article , but was hoping to get the inquest file as well just out of curiosity. I've looked on the link Debra has given and looks like they have only digitised up until July 1900.  So if you couldn't find anything on the index inquest would that mean there is no inquest file.

Sorry for the delayed reply . Am looking for Michael Duane inquest held 25 Oct 1900 I think.

Wow, didn't realise the actual files were online. I clicked on the link you posted Debra. I'll just work my way through all the individual items and fingers crossed I come across the one I need

Thanks so much

Australia / PROV inquest file
« on: Friday 24 June 16 01:47 BST (UK)  »
I was wondering if there is a way to see if PROV hold an inquest file from 1900.  I'm in Brisbane so can't go to the records office and I know they don't actually do lookups but is there anyway online I can confirm there is a file?

Thanks
Mel.
