Ayrshire / Re: Alexander Hamilton (Beith)
« on: Sunday 13 January 13 21:31 GMT (UK)  »
Hello, My 2x great grandfather was a Alexander Hamilton of Beith.  I do not recall the names you have mentioned but have not come too far forward in any branches other than that of the above's son William (1861-1884), and his son, my grandfather William Ferrie Hamilton.
I do have snippets of info though so if you have anything else to go on, please let me know.
Regards,
Davina

Can anyone tell me if Musselburgh High Street and Fisherrow High Street are one and the same?  My Drummond and McNeill families seemed to quote both but with the same numbers.
Thanks

Midlothian / Re: Greig Family Lasswade
« on: Friday 15 October 10 22:04 BST (UK)  »
Hello.
I have a Henrietta G Drummond married to a Joseph Greig on the 24th April 1914 at 249 North High Street, Musselburgh. He was a widower when they married, aged 45 and a pottery worker. His address was 8 Livingstone Place, Portobello. He was born in Portobello, as was his father Alexander. His mother, Joanna Kirkwood was from Inveresk.
My Drummond family lived all over Midlothian and some of the family had lived in Lasswade.  These mining families moved where the work was. I don't have anything else on Joseph and Henrietta, and I realise that my dates are a bit further on than your's, but you never know!

John (?) RICHMOND and Margaret EASTON (Spence/Hay?) who married 4th December 1819 in Dreghorn.  Does anyone know where John came from and who his parents/siblings were?
By 1841 they were living in Nitshill Street, Paisley.  Any help with this brick wall much appreciated.

Hello Lynn,

I don't reconise the names that you mention, although my brother is a Douglas.

My family lived at #136 Inkerman when my father was born in 1910.  My grandfather moved there from Beith, Ayrshire after 1891 with his mother and step-father, William Orr.

Hello,

Has anyone noticed in passing the graves of my great grandparents, David and Margaret Jamieson?  David Jamieson died October 1913, and Margaret Renwick Jamieson nee' Drummond in March 1926.  Margaret's address was given as I Aitkin Place.  Does anyone know if it is still standing?

Thanks.

Looking for any info on the family of James Maguire and his wife Margaret nee' Hamilton who lived in Braeside Terrace.  I understand that a daughter, Letitia Orr Maguire married someone called Stark.  Letitia died in 1994 in Whitburn.  Margaret Hamilton was my grandfather's sister and I would love to make contact with anyone related to this family.
