Hi Stebie
Thank you for the valuable information you have provided, that would explain the Northants connection.
I am curious to know why he joined Northants Regiment when he lived in Hertfordshire and also, as he was a married man, would have been the last to have been called up because of the great loss of fighting men.
Thanks Phil.

Hi Scrimnet
Yes I did use CWGC to find his death date,13 Oct 1918, and printed off Memorial Scroll.I believe he got a service medal for serving over seas.I do use Ancestry or should I say used to,I'm having trouble getting access to various pages because Ancestry won't allow me access. It may be my ISP is blocking that site.My daughter has boyfriend who is computer boffin so hopefully will sort it out.My main interest is where and when BTS enlisted, and had he previously served as a soldier ie Northants Regt.I know his service numbers, are there records of these kept?

Hi'yall
Two years ago I made enquiries about BTS under the name of Oldgit. Since then I have neglected to use this site (shame!). I had forgotten my user name so have created a new one, it sounds cool. With the help from other people from the site, I have been able to build my family tree so now I have over 1000 people on it. I have a Memorial Scroll on which it shows Bertie Sharpe died from his wounds in France in 1918. It shows he enlisted in Watford. He served with the 1st Battalion,Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment) Private 66345 and that he formerly served with the Northants Regiment, his number was 46078. Where would've he enlisted in Watford and where could I find records of his service numbers.
I would be grateful for any help.
